In-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield Out-of-network for all other plans. Superbills provided on request
Out-of-network reimbursement varies — some plans cover 50–80% after a deductible, some cover nothing. If you want a clear picture before committing, call your insurance and ask: "What is my out-of-network outpatient mental health benefit, and what's my out-of-network deductible?" -
I hold a limited number of sliding-scale spots for clients who can't cover the full fee. These are income-based and offered first-come, first-served.
A few things to know about sliding-scale spots:
They're committed slots — clients on sliding scale agree to at least 6 weekly sessions at the start of therapy, then biweekly thereafter
I can't always offer one — availability depends on how many slots are currently taken
If a slot isn't available when you reach out, I can refer you to community mental health resources in the Tri-Cities area
If cost is the only thing keeping you from starting, ask about a sliding-scale spot during your consultation. The worst answer you'll get is "not right now, but here's where else to look.

Life happens. I just need notice.
24+ hours notice: Cancel or reschedule for no charge
Less than 24 hours notice or no-show: Full session fee charged
This applies to BCBS clients too — insurance doesn't cover late cancellations, so the fee comes from you.

Q: How long is a session? Standard sessions are 50 minutes (one clinical hour). EMDR intensives run longer based on desired length.
Q: How often will we meet? Most clients start weekly. Once you've made meaningful progress, we may shift to biweekly. The cadence is something we'll decide together based on what's working.
Q: How many sessions does therapy usually take? It depends on what you're working on. Some men come for a focused 8–12 sessions to address a specific issue. Others work longer when there's deeper history to process. We'll talk about it openly as we go, and you're always free to graduate when your goals are met.
Q: Is what we talk about confidential? Yes. Therapy is protected by HIPAA and Tennessee law. There are a few legal exceptions (active risk to yourself or someone else, child or elder abuse, court orders), and I'll walk through those in your first session.
Q: Do you see couples? No — I work with men individually. If you're looking for couples therapy, I'm happy to refer you to clinicians in the area I trust.
Q: What ages do you work with? Adult men, 18 and up.
Q: Can I use my HSA or FSA? Yes. Therapy is an eligible expense. I can provide receipts for HSA/FSA reimbursement.
Q: What's the No Surprises Act? A federal law that requires me to provide you with a "Good Faith Estimate" of expected costs before treatment. Read the details here.
